About

We are a British and International group of contemporary artists based locally to the West Midlands and Worcestershire. Working in a range of disciplines including painting and sculpture, We Artists form the core of 'The Cobalt Blue Contemporary Arts'. Our goals are to promote and make accessible Art in its many diverse forms here on-line and in real space with projects, pop up exhibitions and via our artist led spaces.
The Cobalt Blue Contemporary Arts is not only an artist group and platform, dedicated to creative innovation, integrity and culture but is also a gallery and art consultancy in the form of the Daphne Francis Gallery where the best contemporary work is sourced and presented online, in brochures to the individual art collector or corporate buyer.
If you are interested in collecting fine artwork for your interiors or for your office or corporate space we have a range of contemporary original fine artwork available and specific requirements can easily be catered for.
Please contact Zarina Keyani on 07707278398 or email me at info@DaphneFrancisGallery.com.

'Conversations With Birmingham'

An eclectic show relating to dialogue and conversation.
'Conversations With Birmingham'
When the artist creates, it is because he/she has something to say. The beginning of that conversation starts with an idea which progresses and develops as an art-form. This could be a painting or a sculpture or a performance. The artist has started the conversation and is offering it to any who wish to listen. The viewer continues this conversation with how they interact or view the work, and often debates its relevance or authenticity however debate makes the conversation no less valid. A point has been made and acknowledged. This form of communication can be direct but is often ambiguous as the language although universal is partly relevant to your own social understanding. The Cobalt Blue Contemporary Arts

'Condition of Spirit'

A series of paintings on notions of landscape by Paul Hirst and Zarina Keyani.
'Condition Of Spirit'
Swiss philosopher, poet and critic Henri Frederic Amiel wrote “Any landscape is a condition of the spirit”The spirit of the viewer, the artist, the poet, the walker, the person passing on a train, the reader of a book, each and every one perceiving the landscape in very different ways influenced by their past experiences, likes and dislikes drawing on memories and their senses. This sense of place is the focus of Zarina Keyani and Paul Hirst’s work but in contrasting ways.Keyani concentrates on the landscape as an autobiography, a diary of a journey, abstracting the landscape, plotting elements of land along with colour to create intersections of experiences and memoriesHirst’s landscapes explore the mood of the place, through the careful choice of colour, techniques and abstracted mark making, Hirst constructs elements of different landscapes to create a new environment that embodies his experiences. Both Artists explore their own personal relationship with the landscape and their roles as artists, embracing differing techniques and imagery, the paintings although quite different contain a commonality that runs throughout the exhibition. The Bond Co, 180-182 Fazeley Street, Birmingham, B5 5SE, UK - Tel: 0770 727 8398Mon to Fri 10-4 pm or by appointment.

'The Artist'

‘The Artist’ launches The Cobalt Blue, a group of emerging British and International artists working and living locally in the West Midlands and surrounding areas. The artists have already attained success with awards and exhibitions and now come together to form a contemporary dialogue of what ‘The Artist’ is today. The aesthetic value of each piece is exceptional and has been achieved through a focused and dedicated approach to technical rendering and detail, however the individual work is rooted in a concept and ideology specific to the artist. All the work is available unless stated otherwise.
